How can we understand the infinite when the majority of us look to the facts of the finite to give us what we consider to be reasonable facts?

Model.

There are such things as scaling laws and models that reflect the infinite that is not beyond the human imagination to fathom. An adequate model of the universe exists, which can properly contain and reflect all the necessary and even sufficient characteristics for the universe to work.

The limitlessness of the human imagination is a reflection of the infinitude of the universe.

Given a workable model, our imagination is able to extrapolate whatever is presented using that model, which indeed reflects the infinite.

The best model of the infinite is the unit circle, which reflects the infinite within itself because there are infinite number of points which we can arbitrarily but lucidly describe in terms of coordinates (x,y) where x < 1 and y < 1.

But the unit of length 1 in itself is arbitrary and scaleless. We did not define precisely how large the unit length would be? To ask “1 what?” is the correct and natural attitude to adopt. The answer to this is there is no need to impose any measurement system for our intents and purposes and neither is there a need for the Supreme Architect to impose or choose any measurement system.

The use of the unit circle to reflect the infinite is a Divine choice. The choice of the unit circle is made so that certain design elements are incorporated, which includes stability and integrity.

But the unit circle is in itself pretty boring. However, it can be made much more interesting if we apply some regime to it.

From the unit circle, we get the well-known Flower of Life configuration as shown below:

A less well known but perhaps even more important is the cardioid, which as the name suggests is the heart shape can be geometrically rendered from the circle as the construction below shows.

Even though the human being is among the last creatures which are rendered from design, it is the human being - human character - which is intended to be under scrutiny according to a certain point of view which promulgates the simulation theory of the universe as the correct point of view, to which I concur.

Below shows the model proper under the recurrence formula z=z squared. All the geometric properties - as mentioned above - of the unit circle is preserved under this formula.

I interpret “reasonable facts” to mean “the foundation principles”.

The universe is not obviously geometric. It needs at least some thinking to come to this conclusion. The Fibonacci fractal reasoning points to this conclusion. If one can discern a mathematical - geometric - pattern that is expressed in the realm of nature and the skies above, in the sea, in the forests and the human body etc, that would indeed be a wonderful thing.

There exist contexts in the Quran in which the meaning of the word "tree" make sense when interpreted symbolically other than their literal meaning.
